Checking Off Another (SILVER) Lister!

Happy to announce another one to check off the bucket list. Was out in the famous Brooklyn Prospect Park and popped a silver first!

I have a feeling many, if not most of you are wondering what that coin is. It is known as a Barber dime. They were minted from 1891/2 to 1916 and named after the U.S. Bureau of the Mint Chief Engraver, Charles E. Barber.

Just a quick fun fact: the 1894-S (San Francisco mint) is one of the rarest and most prized U.S. coins. 24 were minted and 9 are said to have survived and the coins that have been sold, were in more than 1 million dollars.

Unfortunately, the date has worn off and there’s a nice (mower?) nick but I will gladly take it! On to the next find!
